Description
Jack Frost Siberian Bugloss is a shade-loving perennial known for its striking silver leaves. The foliage has a frosted look with green veins, which adds strong contrast in darker garden areas.
In early to mid spring, it produces small blue flowers that resemble forget-me-nots. The blooms float above the leaves and bring soft color at a time when many shade plants are still quiet.
This plant works well under trees, along shaded paths, and in woodland-style gardens. It pairs well with ferns, hostas, and other shade perennials. The foliage stays attractive even after the flowers fade.
In the Bay Area, it prefers partial shade to full shade with well-drained soil. Keep the soil evenly moist, especially during warmer months. It does not like hot, dry exposure.
If you want to brighten a shaded space with texture and soft color, this is a strong choice.
