Description
The Interlaken Grape is a beloved, early-ripening seedless variety, prized for its heavy crops of sweet, crisp, golden-green berries. Developed at Cornell University’s New York State Agricultural Experiment Station and released in 1946, this vigorous, self-pollinating vine is a cross of Ontario and Sultanina (Thompson Seedless) . It produces large, tapered clusters of small to medium fruit with a pleasantly tangy, sweet flavor and a crisp, meaty texture, making it excellent for fresh eating, juicing, and raisins . As one of the earliest seedless grapes to mature, it is ideally suited for gardeners in cooler climates with shorter growing seasons . Its lush, deciduous foliage also makes it a fast-growing and effective choice for quickly covering arbors, pergolas, and trellises, providing both a fruitful harvest and a beautiful, functional privacy screen.
