Description
French Lavender is a distinctive and long-blooming shrub valued for its unique foliage and extended flowering season. Its most recognizable feature is its toothed, gray-green leaves which are softly aromatic. It produces flower spikes topped with small, purple flowers and larger, leaf-like bracts, and can bloom intermittently from spring through fall in mild climates. Less cold-hardy but more tolerant of humidity and varied soils than English lavender, it adds a relaxed, Mediterranean feel to the garden.
