Description
The Cyclops Aeonium is a dramatic, large-scale succulent hybrid that commands attention with its towering stature and intensely colored, architectural rosettes. A cross between Aeonium arboreum ‘Zwartkop’ and Aeonium undulatum, this plant forms striking, branched stems topped with massive rosettes of fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves . The leaves are a deep, glossy bronze-red to purplish-maroon, each centered with a vivid, high-contrast stripe of bright green . This two-tone effect is most pronounced in the cooler months of spring and fall. In summer, mature plants send up impressive, conical clusters of star-shaped, pale yellow flowers from the center of the rosettes . As a monocarpic plant, a flowering rosette will eventually die, but the multi-branched habit ensures the plant’s survival. This bold, sculptural succulent is a masterpiece for containers, dry gardens, and modern landscapes in mild climates.
