Description
Coleonema pulchrum ‘Magenta’ (syn. Coleonema pulchellum, Diosma pulchra) is a graceful, fragrant evergreen shrub prized for its airy, fine-textured foliage and profuse, dainty magenta-pink flowers. Native to South Africa, this elegant shrub features delicate, needle-like, bright green leaves that release a pleasant, spicy-citrus scent when brushed. From late winter through spring, and often sporadically into summer, it produces an abundance of small, star-shaped, magenta-pink flowers that dot the foliage like tiny jewels, attracting bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. With its upright, somewhat brittle branching habit and excellent tolerance for heat, drought, and coastal conditions, it is a superb choice for sunny borders, foundation plantings, Mediterranean gardens, rock gardens, and low hedges.
