The Dwarf Myoporum is a remarkably tough, fast-growing Australian native ground cover, prized for its ability to create a dense, evergreen carpet in challenging landscapes. This prostrate shrub features small, succulent, bright green leaves that form a thick mat, effectively smothering weeds and stabilizing soil on slopes. It is celebrated for its extreme tolerance to drought, heat, salt spray, and poor soils, making it a go-to plant for erosion control, coastal gardens, and low-maintenance “green carpets.” Numerous selections exist, offering subtle variations: some produce a profusion of small, star-shaped, pure white flowers, others bloom in soft pink, and several vigorous types feature distinctive reddish stems that add extra visual interest.
